The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and Guinness World Records recognized Academy Award-winning make-up artist Rick Baker with their top honors today in front of the Hollywood Guinness World Records Museum.

An influential force in the creation of film creatures and prosthetic makeup for more than 40 years, Baker received the 2,485th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the category of Motion Pictures. He was also presented with Guinness World Records for most Oscar wins, and also for the most Oscar nominations for Best Achievement in Makeup. He has been nominated a total of twelve times with seven wins: An American Werewolf in London (1981), Harry and the Hendersons (1987), Ed Wood (1994), The Nutty Professor (1996), Men in Black (1997), How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) and The Wolfman (2010).

Hollywood Walk of Fame guest speakers took refuge from the rain inside the Guinness Museum, while pop-up tents covered the ceremony area.

"We are proud to honor those who have successfully helped make Hollywood what it is today with their talent and magical creations that fans have enjoyed since the beginning of the motion picture industry. Rick Baker is a revered artist who we are proud to say started his extraordinary career in California, home of the movies," said Ana Martinez, Producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies.

In the weeks leading up to the event, Baker and his wife, Silvia, visited the Hollywood Guinness World Records Museum twice to walk through the proceedings and witness the sidewalk being readied for his star. The Walk of Fame ceremony coincided with the DVD and Blu-ray™ release of MEN IN BLACK™ 3, for which Baker supplied a new spectacular population of aliens.
