Kuvera Partners was recognized with the 2011 Beautification Award by the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau last night. The honor was announced at the 64th annual Black Tie Celebration, attended by a record 600 members and guests.

Branson Chamber President/CEO Ross Summers presented the award, which was accepted on behalf of Kuvera Partners by Hollywood Entertainment Center General Manager Chuck O'Day.

"The Beautification Award honors individuals who have enhanced the appearance of the community," said Summers. "The owners of the Hollywood Entertainment Center complex have transformed an underused length of 76 Country Boulevard with attractors to Branson, including a tribute to movie-making with the Hollywood Wax Museum, a beacon to adventure in the intriguing entrance to the Castle of Chaos, and the delightful Hollywood-themed miniature golf course with palm trees and replicas of famous Hollywood landmarks like Grauman's Chinese Theatre and the Hollywood Bowl."

The award was introduced with a video showing before and after photos of the Hollywood Wax Museum's exterior renovation and the run-down restaurant and hotel that have been replaced by Kuvera's Castle of Chaos, Hannah's Maze of Mirrors and Shoot for the Stars Mini-Golf. Commentary was provided by Jim Lawson, Director of the City of Branson Planning & Development department.

"We, the city of Branson, are encouraging property owners to do just exactly what this particular property owner did. They made the property one of the standouts so that people will really begin to see that the strip, as we call it, is being enhanced," said Lawson.

According to Partner Tej Sundher, "We have been in Branson since 1996 and have continually reinvested in our facility and remained actively involved in helping the city enhance its overall tourist experience. We are proud and appreciative that the chamber has recognized our efforts to build eye-catching venues that are exciting and appealing to visitors."

While accepting the Beautification Award, O'Day acknowledged key people who helped Kuvera Partners realize its vision, including Tom Gass of Back Stage Connections, Tom Treat and Michael Woodall of Treat Architects, and George LaRock of Metro Design & Construction.

"They are amazing and largely responsible for the renovation of the Hollywood Wax Museum and adding our three new attractions over the last couple of years," said O'Day.
